Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is that children of all ages learn through play. Children have an exciting, powerful urge to actively explore their environment.
We believe that it is the hands-on, natural outdoor exploration that helps them learn and grow emotionally and developmentally.
Children are the leaders, they learn to pursue their interests, develop skills at their own pace, make decisions, and solve problems.
Our programs are developed for all families of all abilities, and created to foster cognitive, physical, communication, and social skills. Learning takes place in a pressure free environment. Children will learn independence, increase their positive self-image, and develop a range of skills through dramatic play, arts, music, science, field trips, and literature. The children will also develop awareness of their personal safety and the safety of others.
Where Our Philosophy comes from?
-
The Early Learning Framework carries the hope of inspiring and supporting the creation of rich, joyful early childhood spaces where children, adults, ideas, and materials come together, and where knowledge is constructed about learning and living in ways that are local, inclusive, ethical, and democratic.
-
It's a self-guided, experiential learning approach where children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and express themselves through various means.
-
We define Forest/Nature School centres the Land and the child-at-play. Children and educators build a relationship with the Land through regular and repeated access to the same outdoor space over an extended period of time.
